Meaning Behind Foundation
Yayasan Al Baqiyat Al Salihat is a non-profit organisation in Malaysia. Exemplifying the principles of Islam, we serve to provide relief, aid, and assistance to communities in need, regardless of race, religion, or creed. We aim to mitigate the impact of disasters, working with communities to establish sustainable infrastructure, and respond by providing relief, protection, and recovery. We aim to help the impoverished access basic services, including education, food, water, sanitation, as well as healthcare, with a focus on sustainable livelihood.
Due to the spread of COVID-19 in recent years, the lives of many Malaysians have been badly affected, with many losing jobs, loved ones, and direct access to basic necessities. As Muslims, the founders of Yayasan Al Baqiyat Al Salihat Asmah Azimah believe that they have a duty to help those in need of assistance in any way possible. Previously, our founders have been contributing to charities for many years on a personal basis.
The foundation serves as a purpose to ease the burden on individuals and families that may be desperate for aid and relief. Hence, the founding members have been prompted to establish Yayasan Al Baqiyat Al Salihat. The founding members’ main reasoning behind the incorporation of the foundation is to carry out charitable works on a larger, formal scale with a proper agenda for charitable projects. As a result, we can reach underprivileged communities far and wide, and who have been heavily impacted financially and emotionally due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The founders hope with the setting up of the foundation they will be able to help more underprivileged people by having the capability to search for charity works over and beyond the capabilities of contributing to charities on a personal level.
